The central Arizona region enjoys access to major transportation corridors via interstate, rail and air.  This access gives the region a strategic advantage in the delivery of products to millions of consumers and customers of the Western States.  The region has become the center for logistics and distribution and is strategically located in the heart of the Sun Corridor.

INTERSTATES
Interstate 10
Sun Corridor - Interstate 10Interstate 10 (I-10) is the southernmost east-west, coast-to-coast Interstate Highway in the United States. It stretches from the Pacific Ocean at State Route 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) in Santa Monica, California to Interstate 95 in Jacksonville, Florida.
A major expansion of Interstate 10 is presently underway that will provide additional lanes in each direction through central Arizona.

Interstate 8
Interstate 8 (I-8) is an Interstate Highway in the southwestern United States. It runs from the southern edge of Mission Bay at Sunset Cliffs Blvd. in San Diego, California, almost at the Pacific Ocean, to the junction with Interstate 10, just southeast of Casa Grande, Arizona.   In California, especially from eastern San Diego County to points east, Interstate 8 runs very close to the United States-Mexico border. At points in eastern Imperial County, the border is no more than two miles (3 km) south of the Interstate.

Arizona - Union PacificRAIL (MAINLINE UNION PACIFIC)
The Union Pacific Railroad presently operates two major track lines within central and western Pinal County. A segment of track extending from Tucson connects the Cities of Eloy, Casa Grande, and Yuma. It is primarily a line designated for the transporting of freight shipments. The other segment extends north from Tucson and crosses through the central region of Pinal County also accommodating freight shipments. There are industrial properties with existing rail spurs, and other locations that have the potential to be served along these lines.

Union Pacific is currently engaged in the double tracking of the main line through the State of Arizona.  This will increase the capacity of cars able to be transported to Arizona consumers as well as those in other markets.

In addition to the double track project, Union Pacific is planning a switch yard to be housed south of Picacho Peak at Red Rock.  This 250 acre project will be surrounded by over 1,000 acres of industrial land that has the potential to be rail served.
